Car bomb explodes in vegetable market in northern Syria
According to reports a car bomb near a vegetable market in northeastern Syria killed 5 people and 4 are wounded in the Turkish-held border town of Ras al-Ain. The 3 of the victims killed were civilians, but the identity of the other two was not immediately clear. Four others were also wounded.
Last December 10, a car bomb also killed 16 people including 2 civilians and 3 Turkish personnel at a checkpoint in the town. Syria’s civil war has killed more than 387,000 people and displaced millions from their homes since starting in 2011 with the brutal repression of antigovernmental protests.
