Iran interference in Syria on the rise

Iran has increased its intervention in the Syrian . A recent video footage widely of at least two Fateh-110 series (Zolfaghars) were launched from two separate sites, hitting two targets in al-Mayadin, Syria were widely shown on Iranian media.

The ballistic missile strike also signals Iran’s willingness to increase its assertiveness in Syria to secure its core objective of establishing a land corridor, stretching from Iran to the Mediterranean.

An Iranian land corridor would be considered an unacceptable outcome for the United States. Iranian advances increase the risk of further US ground and air deployments, as well as a military response.
