Israel imposes third national lockdown
Israel declared a 3rd national lockdown, amid rising coronavirus infections and will last for at least two weeks. Under the new rules, non-family members will be barred from entering other households, movement restricted to 1km (0.7 miles) from one’s home, and shops and leisure facilities shut.
The restrictions comes days after Israel began vaccinating the general population against the novel coronavirus. After initial success in containing the disease, the country has struggled to suppress the pandemic since a 2nd wave hit in July.
