Qatar and Argentina might be a dangerous alliance in the world of football

Last week the President of the Argentine football club Racing de Avellaneda, Víctor Blanco and Qatar’s ambassador to Argentina Battal M. Al Dosari. This meeting is to establish an agreement with the host country of the 2022 World Cup. Qatar Airways announced that it will leave operate in Argentina and they already sponsor of Boca and also of Conmebol. It is reported that Qatar invested around 34 million dollars for this campaign, advertising plays by inviting world-class players Gabriel Batistuta and Zinedine Zidane.

In the field of football Qatari-Argentine cooperation is not new. Qatar was the highest country invested the capital in football. The latest report that has revealed to the public was Qatari sponsorship represented by the country’s aviation.

Qatar Airways Group has registered a huge loss and if it was not for the donations of the Doha royal family, they will soon get ruined. The involvement of the aviation company in unlawful military campaigns, as a representative for the al-Thani family, in the controling of weapons and extremists represents a risk for millions of travellers and it will also stain Argentine football and the World Cup with blood.
